The infrastructure exists in the form of a strong committee based in the community with local government support, with a Memorandum of Understanding, Marketing Plan and Funded Budget, an existing management plan, which has been re-thought for Geopark operation, and with existing signage, Visitor Information Centres and two Interpretative Centres.

Hamilton Racing Club

Whether it's enjoying a day at the races or a function in one of the three function facilities, the Hamilton Racing Club (HRC) will make sure you have an enjoyable and memorable experience .

Since 1864, HRC, along with the Warrnambool Racing Club, has been the back bone of jumping racing in the south-west of Victoria. Hamilton became the first racing club in Australia to conduct six jumping races on the one program in August 2000. The 'jumpsfest' has continued ever since and is run in August each year.

The Hamilton Cup runs in April of each year. When mentioning the Hamilton Cup, the grand old stager, Puramaka, comes to mind. He won four cups in between 1977 and 1980, a feat that could stand forever.
